[Rafa Roundup] Nadal on the state of his knee: ‘I’m still having pain a lot of days’

On the state of his knee … “I’m still having pain a lot of days. The only thing I wish is that the pain is only minding me when I’m competing. Because I really like to enjoy the rest of the time of my life.” On confidence … “I doubt about myself,” Nadal says. “I think the doubts are good in life. The people who don’t have doubts I think only two things: arrogance or not intelligence.”

Rafael Nadal must know every square inch of Philippe Chatrier court, having won eight titles on it in the past nine years, but even he was desperate to “get back on home soil” for the first time in 2014. And at 5 pm on Thursday, he did just that, feeling the Parisian clay under his feet and getting a feel for his favourite court. Wearing a t-shirt which said “Vamos Rafa” on the back, the world No.1 hat a hit-out with South Africa’s Kevin Anderson…

Unless you find yourself in the finals of an upcoming Grand Slam, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play with “The King of Clay.”

  1. Pain in Rafa’s knee is his rivalry. He is definitely unbeatable if he has healthy knee. Vamos Rafa…. God bless.

    • Great article!! Where can I buy the Roland Garros magazine?? I would love a copy of that one, I’m from Canada. I’m not sure if you can buy it online, does anyone know??

  2. “I’m still having pain in my knee a lot of days” – all the more reason for Rafa to play more OFFENSIVELY than he has been since last year’s US Open. It would force his opponents to do the running and retrieving, instead of himself, and shorten the points as well. VAMOS!!!
