Rafa Roundup: No one plays like ‘unique’ Nadal

ARTICLES:

“I think today I played a little bit better than yesterday,” assessed Nadal. “For a long time I was playing at a good level, I think, changing directions very well and playing with the right intensity. At 4-1 in the second set I stopped a little bit with my legs. Seppi is a player that takes the ball early. If you are not playing from inside, you are in big trouble. I lost a little intensity, made a few mistakes. I was lucky to have the break back again.”

I have struggled with Rafa the most. It was much closer the last time we played, in Miami, than any previous match. I believe he is the toughest of the four because he is unique. No matter who you play in the previous round or can practice with, no one plays like Rafa, so you have to adjust every match. His left-handed play, the amount of spin he puts on the ball and his competitive drive make him very tough to play against…

With 43 of his 62 career titles coming on the red dirt, Nadal is almost like a kid in a candy shop when it comes to the clay court season coming into full swing…

In order of ranking, eight-time French Open winner Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, 2014 Australian Open winner Stanislas Wawrinka, Roger Federer, Tomas Berdych, David Ferrer, Juan Martin Del Potro and Andy Murray will be among the main tournament favourites.

  1. Rafa is the best of all time. Keep up the momentum and reign again for the whole clay season. Love you Rafa!!!!

  2. As I’ve said before, I will say it again. Humility carries the day for Rafael. The mental toughness, the ability to withstand adversary, and pain are some of his quality. But Humbleness is a quality of a true gentleman. A hallmark of a Caballero. Vamos Rafael Nadal!
