The Emirates ATP singles rankings have been updated. Despite Rafa’s early exit at Indian Wells, he remains the World No.1 with 13,130 points. Novak Djokovic, having won the final at Indian Wells, adds a net of 640 points to close the gap between the No.1 and No.2 spots with a new point total of 10,900. Rafa therefore has 2230 more points than Djokovic going into Miami.

Since Rafa has no points to defend in Miami, he can only gain points for matches played. Djokovic lost in the fourth round in Miami, and therefore has only 90 points to defend.

The big movers in the Top 10 this week are Roger Federer, who climbs up three places to No.5, and John Isner, who replaces Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and climbs to the No. 10 spot.

Here’s to good health and supreme confidence going into Miami, Rafa! Vamos!

  4. It’s great to have Rafa as number 1 but more important is that he is healthy and gets back his form. Rafa, I wish you perfect timing so that your shots are good length and maybe the impact on your body is less. Believe in yourself and hope you play superb tennis in Miami.

  5. Let us not get too uptight about the rankings, Rafael is still ahead. Winning Roland Garros is the most important target.. I think that Rafael will successfully defend Rome and Barcelona and may well win Monte Carlo. Remaining fit and healthy is the priority to achieve success RAFA FOREVER, OUR NUMBER ONE
