Rafael Nadal has chalked up another victory, defeating fellow Spaniard Albert Montanes 6-1, 6-2 to reach the quarterfinals at the Rio Open in Brazil. He will next face the winner of the match between Albert Ramos and Joao Sousa.

The match started late, but the players made up for that quickly for the delay in the first set. Rafa could not be stopped as he bulldozed his way through, breaking twice to take the set at 6-1.  The second set went the same as the first, with an early break before being broken for the first time in the match. Despite the stepped up effort from Montanes, Rafa took the set at 6-2.

Rafa’s performance in the last match was not to his liking, as he said in his presser. Will he feel better about this victory? We certainly hope so!
