… The governing body for Men’s tennis the Association of Tennis Professionals(ATP) has listed nominees for its award ‘Comeback Player of the Year’. The list is topped by Rafael Nadal along with Somdev Devvarman, Tommy Robredo and Dmitry Tursunov who have all been brilliant this year.

… Many were asking whether Nadal, once such a threat regardless of the surface he was playing on, could ever reach the top again. His absence would last six months. But since returning after the Australian Open in January, he has never looked back. He has now won 10 titles, including the French and US Open, in 2013 alone.

… “In tennis it’s weird because everybody keeps complaining that people grunt but if you watch any other sport [they do],” the reigning Australian Open champion said. “It’s the same with the guys’ tennis. You watch Nadal and Djokovic. I mean how less intense was that (US Open final)? And nobody talks about it. This doesn’t make sense in my head.
