Rafael Nadal defeated German Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-4, 7-6(3) to reach the quarter final in Beijing on Wednesday. This is his 13th quarterfinal in 14 tournaments this year. His next opponent is Fabio Fognini of Italy, who defeated Aussie Lleyton Hewitt earlier in the day.
The first set saw both players being broken several times. Rafa finally held serve late in the set and took it at 6-4. The second set wasn’t without difficulties, with Rafa receiving a time warning and a violation. The set went into a tie break, with Rafa ending the match with an amazing winner and taking the set at 7-6(3).
