The Battle For Number 1 – Rafael Nadal Vs. Novak Djokovic

The ATP Rankings are out, and for now, there is no change in Rafael Nadal’s standing.

In seven days’ time, the battle for year-end No. 1 will hit prime time. Novak Djokovic will attempt to retain his Beijing crown at the China Open. Rafael Nadal, without any Emirates ATP Rankings points to defend, will be the No. 2 seed at the ATP World Tour 500 hard-court tournament.

If Djokovic is to extend his stay at No. 1, he must win the Beijing title for a fourth time in order to retain 500 Emirates ATP Rankings points. Should Nadal reach the final, he will once again reach the summit of men’s professional tennis.

  1. I yeared that just by entering the chineese Open, Rafa will get back the 150 pts he earned in Vina del Mar in feb. That meens by just reaching the semis, he will be the new num 1. Do you confirm that?
