It’s fair to say that Rafael Nadal is well liked. But now we’ve got the official figures in *puts hand to ear, pretends to listen into ear piece*, yep, it’s official, he’s liked by a whopping 12 million of us.
Our Rafa has just reached a milestone on his official Facebook page where more than 12 million fans have hit the ‘like’ button. Rafa joined Facebook 4 years ago, on March 30, 2009 (yes, we keep a record!). On March 10, 2012, he hit the 10 million milestone, and added a million more in just a few months, reaching 11 million on July 16, 2012.
Congratulations Rafa, on yet another victory! We’re proud to be a part of the Rafa Family! 🙂

In the middle of June 2012, Rafa had more Facebook fans than Federer did. During Rafa’s absence from the ATP Tour, his fan-base grew slower than that of Federer.
I am sure Rafa’s fan-base will grow quickly, if he continues to play.
Federer has been playing tennis for a lot longer than Nadal (he’s 32). You would expect him to has MUCH more fans on the social medias. 1M difference is nothing. Also like augusta08 said, Rafa was ahead of Fed during June 2012, before his injury. No doubt that Nadal will surpass Federer soon because the Swissman keeps disappointing with his results and will probably retire soon.
