The Davis Cup draw for 2014 was held on Wednesday, September 18, at 11:00 am BST in London.  Spain is seeded third in the World Group, after Davis Cup 2013 finalists Czech Republic and Serbia. The rest of the seeded teams include Argentina, France, USA, Canada, and Kazakhstan.

The potential opponents for Spain were: Australia, Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, and Switzerland. Of those, Rafa and the Spanish Armada will face Germany in January, per today’s draw. The choice of ground will be Germany’s.
