Congratulations, Andy Murray, Wimbledon 2013 Champion!

Andy Murray created history today, breaking a drought of 77 years to return the Wimbledon championship trophy to Great Britain. The number 7 was lucky for Andy, as he won the trophy on July 7, 77 years after Fred Perry’s victory. It was a season of firsts: both Marion Bartoli and Andy Murray are first time Wimbledon champions.

  1. Well done Andy!
Just a small nit-pick, you’ve forgotten Virginia Wade was actually the last Brit to win Wimbledon in 1977…… just sayin’

  2. Yes it’s brilliant – a British win is fantastic – at last an emotional moment and very well played Andy!!!
