Rafael Nadal moved up to fourth in the latest ATP rankings released on Monday a day after claiming a record 14th French Open title. Casper Ruud went up to a career-best No. 6 from No. 8 by reaching his first Grand Slam final.
Our champ has won both of this year’s major titles so far, including the Australian Open in January, but his ranking is hurt by his lack of activity over the past 12 months. He played only two matches between the end of the 2021 French Open and the end of last season because of that foot, then missed more time this year because of that issue and a rib injury.
The top 10 for the week of June 6, 2022 are as follows:

As he missed most of the second half of last year Rafa does not have many points dropping from his ranking in the coming months.
In the Race to Turin, Rafa is No. 1 with 5,620 points, well clear of second-placed Alcaraz (3,820) and third-placed Tsitsipas (3,670). Ruud is up to fourth (3,065), ahead of Zverev (2,700), Andrey Rublev (2,280), Felix Auger-Aliassime (2,205) and Medvedev (2,080). Djokovic is in ninth place with 1,970 points.

Although my main concern is Rafa, his health and his foot (which I really hope can be sorted out), number 15 at RG is such a lovely round number!!! I so hope he is well enough to give it a shot. I’ve been smiling a lot today. Truly inspirational. Vamos
I’m too lazy to work out what happens when the Wimbledon points come off, but it’ll certainly shake things up a bit.
As I understand it, the ATP deducts the points won at a particular tournament just before the tournament is played again. So Djokovic would have had the 2000 points that he won at last year’s French Open deducted immediately PRIOR to the French Open commencing this year and 360 points added TODAY (because he reached the Quarter Final this year).
I shall have to do more digging to find out whether they will deduct the points won at last year’s Wimbledon prior to Wimbledon this year. They might not do that this time.
As I understand it, last year’s points are coming off, for both ATP and WTA players. It seems very unfair -Karolina Pliskova’s ranking’ll drop right down.
I have just learned from the ATP Tour Website that the points awarded to players at last year’s French Open will not be deducted until June 13th! Apparently, this is because the French Open started a week later last year. So Djokovic has not yet lost the 2000 points that he was awarded when he won the French Open in 2021. I don’t know if/when they will deduct the points awarded at last year’s Wimbledon, given that there will be no points awarded to players at Wimbledon 2022. I would have thought that whatever they decide Rafa will be okay because he didn’t play at Wimbledon last year.

As far as I’m concerned Rafa is Number One and delays will be. Again the hope that he will be physically fit and able to play in another tournament is on many people’s minds but we want him to be well first and gracefully accept what ever happens in the future.🎾😎
Actually, Rafa moves to 3rd position, and Djokovic moves to 4th, don’t he. He lost 1640 points, and Medvedev and Zverev moves to 1 and 2 position. Am I wrong?
Next week Djokovic’s points will drop off.

RAFAMAZING IS AMAZING
For Wimbledon, does Sascha enter and does Rafa enter? We know that Daniil is out. If Rafa plays and Sascha does not, then Rafa will be seeded No. 1.
French sports newspaper L’Equipe reported Sascha will skip Wilbledon as he needs 6-8 weeks to heal his injury.
The position in the race with two GS already this year is just amazing.
