21-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal improved to 19-0 for the season when he defeated Australian Nick Kyrgios 7-6(0), 5-7, 6-3 in the quartefinals of the BNP Paribas Open on Thursday afternoon.
Our champ recovered from a break down in the first set and stayed calm and patient after losing the second set to eventually prevail in two hours and 46 minutes.
He will next play the winner of the match between defending champion Cameron Norrie and fellow Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

The winning set demonstrated that Rafa can change strategy if called upon by standing closer to the baseline to throw Nick’s service game into distraction . Next match against Alvarez will be the toughest yet and I hope Rafa is up to the challenge of besting his protege’.
