Rafa on playing Shapovalov:

He is playing very well, he won at Stockholm, he has won very good players and brilliantly.

I need to play at my highest level, if not, I do not pray that it is possible to beat him.

It’s very important for me to reach the semi-finals here.

Rafa and Denis have split two previous meetings, and this is the third time they will meet in a Masters 1000 event. Shapovalov defeated Nadal during his magical run in Montreal two years ago, before the Spaniard got his revenge last year in Rome.

Rafa has a 22-2 record in Masters 1000 tournaments this season. He is tied for the most victories at this level in 2019 with Daniil Medvedev.

GOOD LUCK & VAMOS RAFA!
