Rafael Nadal had to come from a set down to see off Marin Cilic in the quarterfinals of the Rogers Cup in Toronto.
The world No. 1 lost the opening set 2-6 but got himself back in the match with a 6-4 win in the second.
Rafa sealed his place in the last four by taking the deciding set 6-4. The 32-time ATP World Tour Masters 1000 champion, who is a three-time champion in Canada, will now face Karen Khachanov for a semi-final berth.
Asked on Court why he and his generation of players continue to dominate, Rafa said, “We don’t have a name like the NextGen, but we still have a passion for our sport.”
