the match reminds me of the muller match at wimbeldon many breakpoints no break for nadal.
His returns are just aweful absoluty aweful courtposition. Obviously carlos moya is unable to convince nadal to do otherwise. If nadal loses second set the match is over 9 breakpoints and you can not convert 1 of them unbelievable
mjus you are absolutely right about Rafa’s court position. Like you, I have been highlighting this negative aspect of Rafa’s game too. In the initial part of the match today Rafa was standing close to the baseline especially on the second serve returns, I was brimming with happiness that finally he heard our cries. But then he immediately retreated to his usual hopeless court position and paid the price of losing the 1st set. There were few positives though, like those power angled shots were amazing. I just hope he moves closer to the base line with every match.

Actually Rafa has been displaying such obvious signs of mental problems for a loooong time now – years – and still ….. is his team trying to address this problem – I mean separately as a major issue. Keeping on and on practicing playing is not enough. I just hope he can turn it around!!!
