He is a great player. He is young. He has all the shots: good serve, good forehand, good backhand. He’s a tough opponent. I practiced with him a couple of times and I played with him long time ago.
I know he’s able to play a very high level. I know it’s going to be a very tough match. I need to be ready for the match. I need to be ready to play my best if I want to keep going.
Rafa won their lone meeting in April 2015 on the clay courts of Monte-Carlo (6-2, 6-1), but Pouille is a completely different player since then and the hard courts of Flushing Meadows are more suited to his game.

Let’s hope he can get back on track and quickly . Andy and Stan both had a wobble but managed to pull through so I’m hoping Rafa can do the same. Can’t bear to watch so am watching Tsonga and Sock. If Rafa wins he will have to go up a level as Tsonga is playing great
