In Odense, Rafael Nadal defeated world No. 909 Mikael Torpegaard, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 to give Spain a 1-0 lead over Denmark.
After the match, Rafa said:
It’s important to have the first point for our country. I was improving during the match and it’s a straight-sets win. This surface is fast and it’s difficult to have control of the point.
