FAST4 tennis: Rafael Nadal defeats Mark Philippoussis, Omar Jasika and Fernando Verdasco in Melbourne [PHOTOS]

Rafael Nadal rounded off his Australian Open preparation with a unique five-sets victory at Melbourne Park today.

It took Rafa only 117 minutes to edge out Fernando Verdasco 2-4 4-3 4-3 3-4 4-2 in the Big Bash version of the sport to climax his charity function on Margaret Court Arena.

Earlier, our champ had made short work of sets, winning 4-1 against US Open junior champion Omar Jasika and by the same score over Mark Philippoussis.

  2. I woke up at 3 am just to watch this. I had to go to sleep after the fourth set, I expected Rafa to take it, and I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer lol. I’m hoping someone posts it online so I can at least see what he had to say after the event was finished.
