Davis Cup: Rafael Nadal cheers on Marc Lopez and Fernando Verdasco in Madrid

Marc Lopez and Fernando Verdasco both won reverse singles matches to give Spain a 5-0 sweep of Ukraine in their Davis Cup World Group playoff. Rafa didn’t play, but he was sitting in the stands and cheering on Marc and Fer. 🙂

The last time Spain won a Davis Cup match 5-0 was against Kazhakstan last year, and they will find out their opponents for the initial stages of the 2014 competition on Wednesday 18th September, when the draw is made in London.

Holland, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Australia, Switzerland and Japan also won their play-off ties and will be in the World Group next year along with Spain, Czech Republic, Serbia, Argentina, Canada, Italy, United States, France and Kazakhstan.
