Rafael Nadal defeated Fabio Fognini of Italy in straight sets, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 to reach round 4 of the French Open in Paris. This was the second meeting and second defeat for Fognini within a span of  approximately 15 days. Fognini proved to be a formidable opponent,  keeping Rafa engaged in a lively match that resulted in a first set tie-breaker. Rafa meets Japan’s Kei Nishikori in the next round. Rafa has a solid 4-0 head to head win record over Nishikori.
