Rafael Nadal defeated top seed Novak Djokovic to win his second US Open title in New York today.
Rafa dominated the first set and broke twice to take the set 6-2. The second set went Djokovic’s way, with Rafa being broken twice and losing the set at 3-6. The third set challenged both players to push their limits and play at a higher level. Despite being up a break, Djokovic couldn’t hold his lead and Rafa took the set 6-4. Rafa broke early in the fourth set to establish a 2-0 lead, then cemented the set and the championship with a score of 6-1.
Here’s to an undefeated hard court season! Vamos Rafa!
