Magnetic Loveable Personality of Rafael Nadal [VIDEO]

Andy Roddick and tennis journalist Jon Wertheim reacting to the news of Rafael Nadal withdrawing from Indian Wells is already old news, even though the video has been published today (the podcast episode, of course, was earlier available). And if you are wondering why you should watch it now, you will love it as they also reflect on the personality of Rafa and how he positively affected tennis off the court. And he still does the same after all those years.

  1. There will never be another Rafa! How could someone be as humble as Rafa and play like a gladiator ready to slay his component! I’ll never forget this muscular teenager from Majorca with his long hair, flying around the court making these unbelievable shots, which ended with a big VAMOS. Those were such magical times, he brought such excitement to the court, and for me there is no replacement for him! In my heart, I really don’t think Rafa will be able to come back on tour. His injuries don’t seem recover like they used to …also not forgetting that he always said he would wait until the end of his career to have children and I think that’s what he did! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Rafa came back to win his 15th RG ..My cup would Runneth over with pride! It would be the cherry on top of the most phenomenal career! I have such a special place in my heart for Rafa I’m so grateful for all the years of entertainment that he gave to me all his fans!

  2. Nadal physio is working hard on his back now. Then chest, ribs, houlders, stomach, legs then foot.

    • Yea, I read this too, David. I think this issue compromised his serve at the Netflix Slam. Rafa is in a dilemma because I know he doesn’t want to disappoint, but I’m staying hopeful. Fingers crossed that he’ll be ok.

  3. Andy Roddick’s podcast is a great tribute to Rafa – such an accurate and respectful insight into Rafa, the person, his game and how much he’s contributed to tennis. Love it ❤️
