Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal Secure Paris Olympics Qualification

Great news for Rafael Nadal and all tennis fans!

Spain’s Davis Cup team secures direct qualification to the 2024 group stage with one of two wild cards from the International Tennis Federation, while the other goes to Great Britain.

The ITF Board’s recent decision directly affects Carlos Alcaraz and Rafa’s Paris Olympic Games qualification. Neither, having missed a Davis Cup tie with Spain in 2023 or 2024, meets the requirement.

They only need to send letters to the ITF via RFET, explaining their exceptions—Alcaraz due to a ‘wild card’ to Spain preventing his participation in the February playoff, and Rafa, recovering from injury, needing to submit a medical report. Our champ will enter the draw with his protected ranking.

These key ‘Armada’ members will feature in the Olympic tennis event from July 27 to August 4, possibly teaming up for doubles.

  2. Stay healthy, Rafa. No doubt Rafa and Carlos will be historic. At the moment,
Jannik Sinner is impressive with his outstanding play and lack of chestbeating
bravado. He seems like Rafa in his ability to play within himself, keeping his focus
    and self-control👏👍🎾❤️

  3. So Rafa & Carlos should be at Olympics 24 at RG….if Rafa had been ignored due the psoas injury at the AO2023..well Tennis would have become as toxic as some of today’s players are. Vamos Rafa & Carlos singles and dbls.🇪🇦🇪🇦☘☘❤❤

    • Rafa will probably play mixed too. Don’t know much of the woman’s game but I think he’ll do well in all three.

Unlike Dopeovic. In the 2020 Olympics, he lost the bronze medal singles match so subsequently threw a selfish hissy fit huff and pulled out of the mixed doubles bronze medal match. Citing heat exhaustion or some other lie. As a consequence, he denied his fellow Serb the chance at a medal.

      Talk about a sore loser.

      • Watching Rafa and Carlos in doubles action at the Olympics will be a highlight of my Summer.

  4. Could some very kind and wonderful person please tell me what to put in to google to find out all Tennis players that will be doing Paris 2024?

I have been googling the hell out of this for about an hour. With no success. It’s doing my head in.

    Thanks, in advance.

    • I think there is no way we can know it now, because of this rule: “For the singles, the top 56 players in the world rankings on 10 June 2024 of the WTA and ATP tours will qualify for the Olympics.” Since Rafa is having a protected ranking, if he is healthy he will be there but who knows what might happen in 6 months with other players.

      • Thanks for that. Appreciated.

Could I please ask if you know who the GB Wildcard went to? I think Murray being 40 to 50ish odd in the world may automatically get in but I think the Wildcard would be English. I’m just wondering, so I know in advance which player to boo and pile abuse upon😃
