  1. Well done Rafa, saving those SPs and snatched the first set TB from a losing position. I think that’s the essence of Rafa, never give up on a point, able to fight back to win when back against the wall.

His level is certainly too much for Berrittini to handle, it’s just that he has too much respect for his opponent, esp when it’s the first time they play against each other.

Rafa’s first serve % needs improvement, but he’s winning a high %of first serves when he gets them in.

Rafa’s serves are amazing, in that they’re hard to read and return, Berrittini had won only 13 out of 75 of Rafa’s serve! That’s pretty poor by any standard! No wonder Schwarzman, a better returner of serves than Berrittini, said that Rafa has improved so much his serve!

It’s a major weapon in Rafa’s tool box these days; if he gets a higher % of his first serve in, he’ll be really hard to beat even for Djoko or Fed. He certainly needs a great serve to help him win some cheap points esp against his main rivals.

  2. Rafa’s press conference was just terrific as he answered all the questions with direct and honest answers, even joking around with one of the reporters about not allowing any breaks against him … So great to see him smile and laugh…

Throughout this tournament Rafa has stayed completely focused as he has taken on each opponent with grit, determination and confidence …His talent and passion at 33 years old is explosive and his mental toughness, in making adjustments in each match, has come to light with every victory from day one. There have been heart racing moments that have brought us to the edge of our seats and then BOOM…he shows us his brilliance and
puts his opponents away…And then we breathe again….
Our boy is playing “lights out” tennis as he marches into the finals…

I am overwhelmed with pride and joy over Rafa’s accomplishments and on Sunday, Rafa will unleash the BEAST once again…He’s focused, he knows what he has to do and he will be ready!!!!

    Take it to him Rafa!

    VAMOS RAFA!!!

    • Marileena, I totally agree, well said👍 Enjoy the final on Sunday!

All the best to Rafa against Daniil, Vamos!!!❤️

      • Thanks so much Mimi….

All of us, from all over the world will enjoy the final Sunday… It might have its ups and downs but in the end
Rafa will be raising the trophy!!!!!

        VAMOS RAFA!!!!!

  6. What a fantastic tie break , previously Rafa had match point and then found himself 4/0 in the breaker . We saw the unique fighting spirit that we love . The crowd really got behind him and his reaction on winning the set was awesome.
After that he was never really under pressure . Bennetteni is a strong player and tried his best.
Rafa looks super in black .
Now for Sunday and history . Go Rafa ☘️🌟I’ve seen him win twice here in New York so fingers crossed 🤞 for another great Rafa day

  7. Rafael is often described as a “lion in the jungle,” a “beast who wears opponents down,” and other similar phrases. What is more understandable to me is that Rafa is a tactician, constantly probing and seizing on opponents’ weaknesses. He does this with passion, flare, and with a desire to win that is equalled by few others in the history of the sport. Go Rafa! P.S. Great to see your serve in top form!

  8. As I write this, August 7 @ 0351 NY time, here are the numbers.

    ATP RACE TO LONDON

    1. Rafa 7,225

    2. Nole 7,085

    3. Roger 5,150

  9. I feel wins like this will dispel any thoughts of retiring Rafa may have had. He will be with us for a while longer bringing joy, anxiety, worry, and the thrill of a win.

Wishing him his #4 and #19.

  10. Congrats, Rafael. Way to stay the course and fight. Always respectful and full of commendations for opponents and other players. What an amazing comeback after the struggles earlier in the year. You have brought us to tennis, to this moment, and we are there with you on Sunday. Tennis has no greater ambassador.👏👍💪🤛🎾🍀❤️
