Rafael Nadal has reached the French Open final for the 12th time in his career after a straight-sets victory over Roger Federer. He won 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.
The King of Clay has never lost in 22 appearances in the semi-finals and beyond at Roland Garros and is chasing a remarkable 12th title in Paris.
After the match, Rafa said:
It was difficult to play in the wind. But I am back in the final of the tournament which is most important to me. It is very beautiful for me to play another final here. It is always a tough match against Roger and we had tough conditions today. Roland Garros is the most important tournament to me.
It is incredible to play Roger here. Congratulations to him – it is incredible he is playing at this level at 37. He is probably the best player in history – it was a pleasure to play against him today.
He will face either Dominic Thiem or Novak Djokovic in Sunday’s final.

OMG…. AMAZING tennis from the King of Clay…
Today we all had the opportunity to watch Rafa play at a level that was far beyond anything we have seen in the longest of time… At this tournament he has gotten better and better and today he played lights out tennis. He made shots that were so incredible that you couldn’t help but say Wow…Wow…Wow….over and over again. And even with the adverse conditions he adjusted and stayed laser focused and Roger in truth never stood a chance. And yes…Roger is going home thinking that Rafa is the greatest player of the clay court.
I am so happy for Rafa and his team who prepared him perfectly for this match .
Sunday… No one will beat him… He will raise the trophy once again #12.
And we will all celebrate!!!

I’ve been trying to have no expectations this week as I’ve been worried that Rafa may be injured and beating both Fed and Djokovic seems close to impossible. But then I look at Rafa today… my hope is back.
Poor old Fed, has to play with a force 10 gale, sandstorms and TsunamiDal – it’s still no excuse for hitting a ball into the crowd. Rafa is such a classy human being,. Seeing him applauding Fed at the end of the match made me cry, so happy for Rafa and proud to be his fan.
I took the day off work to watch this – was afraid of jinxing Rafa, but he was magnificent! Vamos!!
