Eleven-time champion Rafael Nadal plays Grigor Dimitrov in the third round of Monte Carlo on Thursday.

Date: April 18, 2019

Match time: Around 3 PM local time / 9 AM EDT –  New York, Montreal /  2 PM BST – United Kingdom / 3 PM CEST – Spain, France, Germany, Italy / 11 PM AEST – Melbourne. To convert to your local time, use this website.

Rafa leads Dimitrov 11-1 in their FedEx ATP Head2Head series, which includes wins for the Spaniard at this event in the 2013 quarter-finals and last year’s semi-finals.

Tomorrow is another good test against Grigor, so let’s see.

I need to play well again.

Rafa owns a 69-4 record at Monte-Carlo. Our champ captured eight titles in a row from 2005 to 2012, and he has lifted the trophy the past three years, winning 15 consecutive matches since his SF loss to Djokovic in 2015. He has won an Open Era record 57 clay-court titles and he has the best career winning percentage on clay.

GOOD LUCK & VAMOS RAFA!

  2. Beautiful tennis today Rafa… strong…athletic…commanding … Stay with your strategy against Dimitrov and the match is yours!!

  3. Rafa will attack Grigor’s one handed backhand with relentless high bounce big spin lobs which will propel Rafa to a fairly easy victory . I think this weakness in Dimitrov’s game has been exposed and is the key to Rafa’s domination against Grigor .

  4. Against Dimitrov it wouldn’t be exactly candy from a baby like his first match, but Rafa should still win comfortably.

Get it done champ! Rafa is highly motivated.

  5. Easing into the tournament Rafa. Nice to see you with the first victory under your belt. Meanwhile the Djoker throws a hissy fit with his racquet smashing!

    • That Djoker’s smashing racquet gimmick is just a calculate move to get in the minds of his opponents when things are going against him.

      • Yep. I’m with you there Mac. I was willing on Kohlschrieber to win. He got SO close.
