To open the grass season, Rafael Nadal will compete at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart next week.
Our champ won the title twice when the tournament was staged on clay, in 2006 (d. Gaudio) and 2007 (d. Wawrinka), and has a 13-2 event record.
Seeded as No. 1, Rafa will face the winner of a match between Lukas Rosol and Marcos Baghdatis after his first round bye.
Seeds in Rafa’s half are Gael Monfils, Bernard Tomic, and Philipp Kohlschreiber. Seeds in the bottom half of the draw include Marin Cilic, Feliciano Lopez, Dominic Thiem, and Viktor Troicki.
To our delight Rafa will also compete in the doubles draw together with Feliciano Lopez. They will open their campaign against Tommy Haas and Radek Stepanek.

Doubles is a great idea…brings out the best working relations ….also boosts the morale. Your morale appears well intact but partnership games allow for more exchange between good frinds.
