Flashback Friday: Rafael Nadal’s Monte-Carlo Dynasty

For today’s Flashback Friday, we decided to pay a tribute to the legacy of Rafael Nadal‘s incredible winning record in Monte Carlo. Up until last year, Rafa won this Masters tournament consecutively for 8 years, starting in 2005. In 2008, along with Tommy Robredo, he even won the men’s doubles title. Novak Djokovic ended Rafa’s streak last year when he took the title. But Rafa’s utter dominance of the tournament and his brilliance in tennis, particularly on clay, leaves us in awe and reverence of him. Whether or not Rafa wins his 9th, he deserves to be celebrated. Vamos, Rafa! Here are photos through the years. Enjoy!
