Rafael Nadal beats Tomas Berdych to reach Indian Wells final

Rafael Nadal has advanced to the BNP Paribas Open finals for the fourth time. He’s won it twice, in 2007 and 09. He beat Tomas Berdych in Saturday’s semifinals, making it 13-3 overall and 12 in a row against the No. 6 seed.

“For me, it’s completely unexpected. To be in the final … it’s a big surprise but I’m here and I’m very, very happy.”

Rafa, who is playing in his first hard court tournament since returning from injury, broke once in a tight opening set to close it out 6-4. Berdych broke at 4-3 in the second to give him the chance to serve out the set and level the match, but Nadal hit back before breaking again to seal the victory 7-5.
