Rafa Roundup: Baby Rafael Nadal makes his TV debut at United Cup

Rafael Nadal appears to be saving his legs for tomorrow night’s clash against Australia’s Alex de Minaur after withdrawing from his mixed doubles match.

Nadal was set to take to the court alongside Paula Badosa for the fifth and final leg of Spain’s United tie with Great Britain, but withdraw after Dan Evans’ win over Albert Ramos-Vinolas resulted in the final leg being a dead rubber.

Nadal and Spain face Australia tomorrow evening, with his singles match-up with de Minaur set to be the headline act.

Men’s world number two Rafael Nadal has displayed his sportsmanship amid a tense moment during his shock three-set loss to Great Britain’s Cameron Norrie at the United Cup in Sydney.

The scores were locked at 2-2 and 30-30 in the deciding set of Saturday’s match when Nadal admitted the ball had struck his body while playing a close-range shot that had made it over the net.

Rafael Nadal is well-known for being a class act on and off the court, and he gave another example of his kindness during the ongoing United Cup in Australia. The 36-year-old is a part of Spain’s squad at the tournament and started his season with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 defeat to Great Britain’s Cameron Norrie. Unperturbed, Nadal cheered on his teammate Albert Ramos-Vinolas as he took on Dan Evans in the second men’s singles fixture.

During the match, Paula Badosa complained about feeling cold, to which the 22-time Grand Slam champion responded by instantly taking off his jacket and lending it to her in an act of kindness.

  1. Why can’t he keep the baby and family out of limelight? thats what he did so far. Now all of a sudden, its too much distraction from his tennis..

  2. The nanny looks young and pretty. The baby doesn’t look too heavy to carry for a long period without the stroller or strap.
