Rafa must serve well and limit his unforced errors and play alot better than his last 2 matches against Goffin and DeMinaur . Beating Nole in this match would be amazing for Rafa and Team Spain . Vamos and please get this win !
Rafa you have played Nole so many times. You know HIS weaknesses and you need to put them into play. Don’t play the way he knows how you play . put forth your new tactics and diverse play . I know your Coach Carlos Moya has been working with you on that. What ever you do in your game make it a surprise that Nole won’t see coming and be AGGRESSIVE and take CONTROL of the match right off. Don’t give an inch to him. Remember you are the Matador he is the Bull and in that instance who always win it’s not the Bull it’s the Matador . Believe in your self and rise to the occasion for not only you but for your Country. You are the Best and don’t forget it. Yes Lorna, it’s unfortunate that Rafa doesn’t seem to believe that he can beat Novak. I know he can but there seems to be a block especially when I think of the way he played against him in the AO finals last year. All the matches Rafa played before the finals we could see that he was aggressive and had made some changes in his game. But I’m the finals he went into the defensive and was playing more in his ‘old’ style which many players especially Novak knew how to attack and deal with.
Anyway …….. I want Rafa to believe in himself no matter who the player is and with a win against Novak (most of all) and even Federer (of late) it would be fabulous!!!

I thought Rafa looked tired and seemed rather downbeat in his presser today, but I know he’ll try his best tomorrow and I’ll be cheering for him and the rest of Team Spain.
I hope Roberto wins. He gave up his chace to defend his points from winning Doha and has now lost his place in the top 10 to Goffin, who got there by beating Rafa. Roberto will get it back if he beats Lajovic and I think he deserves that, he’s been a rock for his team this week.

Yes, 140. He has 250 in total from this tournament and 10235 in total. To reach 10000 is great, I’m very happy about that. Although Djokovic has narrowed the gap and may well narrow it further tomorrow, Rafa will keep the #1 at least until AO. Djokovic has withdrawn from the tournament he was scheduled to play next week.

Rafa fab 1, you are spot on with your comments and I couldn’t agree more. Rafa has had to endure a six year drought in regard to wins against Novak on hard courts.
When speaking of his match tomorrow with Novak, Rafa said ” I need something else and I am looking for it”. This is a cause for concern as it tells me that Rafa isn’t confident about the match up and still searching for top form. He can’t afford to come out sluggish against Novak as he did today, because his arch rival is known taking full advantage of being on the front foot.

Congrats team Spain. I was very nervous during Rafa’s match and I can’t than God and all the deities for helping him. BUT he needs even more protection and greater savvy against Novak who is playing very well, is rested enough and lives thaw courts and conditions. He’s also someone who has bothered Rafa the most in recent years. Winning against Novak is imperative not only to win the atp cup but for Rafa’s confidence. It’ll be sooo good for Rafa.
Rafa and RBA don’t be too good and kind. Be aggressive like never before.

As Captain Francisco commented after the match between Rafa and Alex, problem-solving by Rafa himself by experimenting with different shots/court positions saved the evening for Team Spain.
Needless to say Roberto’s game was impeccable. Shots were crisp. At no time during his match with Kyrgios did I feel nervous or apprehensive on behalf of the Team.
But with Rafa I was calling on all the tennis deities and was grateful for the momentum shift at the end of the second set and voila, in the third set Rafa’s usual brilliance was back! I attributed this too to the fact that Rafa stayed calm even when the going was tough.
Thank God! And thank you to all the members of Team Spain as well as all the fans worldwide. Sending positive vibrations across the miles helped Team Spain’s cause.
