World No. 1 Rafael Nadal beat Denis Shapovalov 6-3, 7-6(7) to earn Spain their sixth Davis Cup title with a win over first-time finalists Canada on Sunday.

  1. Rafa Nadal, my all time favorite tennis player. Congratulations on winning the World Cup! You are an amazing person and tennis player.

  2. A truly inspirational performance by Rafa and his team. The love that he has for his team members, fans and country was clear to see on court. What a touching moment after Rafa’s match when he raced over to RBA, lifted him up in the air and gave him a huge hug.

With four out of five of the team over the age of thirty, Rafa knew that this would be the best opportunity to capture the Davis Cup title once again before any of them retired – and on home soil.

I was just reflecting on Rafa’s achievements this year:

    2 grand slam titles
    1 grand slam final
    2 masters 1000 titles
    6 other semi finals
    Davis Cup team title
    Rakuten Award

All this after so much injury heartache. It’s simply astounding. The mental resilience of Rafa is second to none and down the last stretch his body was his best friend.

Congratulations Rafa. Relax and enjoy some off season time with your wife Maria.

  3. Congratulations to Team Spain. You were all magnificent! And to win on home soil, how special! What a way to finally end the season 2019! Cheers!

    • ENHORABUENA EQUIPO!! Habeis hecho un gran trabajo sois unos campeones… Rafa eres especial SIEMPRE CONTIGO

  4. Dedication and true grit-Roberto Agut and Rafael Nadal. Rising above personal circumstances to
    win so convincingly-true champions-congratulations to Team Spain.👏👍💪🤛🎾❤️🏆🥇

  5. Enjoy watching Rafa while you can. Years even decades from now, realisation will set in that you’ve been in the company of greatness.

And this time around the Spanish Team have achieved it together, all cogs of the wheel working with skill and Spanish passion! And self-sacrifice from Roberto Bautista Agut.

    I am soooo happy!

  6. CONGRATULATIONS DEAR RAFA🏆🏆🏆🏆🥂🍾🏆🏆🥂🍾🍾. CONGRATULATIONS TO SPAIN. ✌✌✌

LOVE YOU DEAR RAFA. 💖💙💜💛 NOW. ENJOY YOUR 2019 YEAR END. ALWAYS A CHAMPION. THERE CAN NEVER BE A ANOTHER RAFAEL NADAL.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF, GOD BLESS YOU. 💛💜💖

  7. If anyone doubts that a healthy Nadal cannot play on Indoor hard courts and win them hands down, this 8 match exhausting marathon (and the way he won them by not dropping serve even once in singles) ought to clear up those doubts. I wish he always remains healthy enough to compete at this level at the end of the season

  8. It was wonderful to see how much they all put into and got out of a team event. It’s been a long, hard week – the doubles matches have been finishing at stupid o’clock – at the end of a long season, but they all put everything into it.
