Rafa, 2009 champion, is bidding to reach the second round at the Australian Open for the 13th time. This is his 14th appearance in Melbourne and his 55th Grand Slam overall.

Rafa has a 55-12 record at the Melbourne major, including three runner-up finishes in 2012 (l. to Djokovic), 2014 (l. to Wawrinka) and 2017 (l. to Federer), and he will be contesting his first tournament since September 2018.

Our champ has a chance at No. 1 during the Aussie fortnight. He will regain the top spot in the ATP Rankings on 28 January if he wins the title and Novak Djokovic does not reach the fourth round.

GOOD LUCK & VAMOS RAFA!
