PHOTOS: Rafael Nadal beats Karen Khachanov to reach Rogers Cup final

Rafael Nadal has advanced to the final of Rogers Cup with a 7-6(3), 6-4 win over 22-year-old Karen Khachanov. The world No. 1 raised his record to 39-3 on the season.

Our champ will play Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final after the Greek teenager fought back from a set down to beat Kevin Anderson 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(7). Rafa won their only previous meeting, dropping just three games in this year’s Barcelona final.

After the match, Rafa said:

I’m happy about everything.

Of course, I can play a little bit better. I believe I can do it.

Rafa will chase a 33rd ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title on Sunday—he has not won a Masters title on a hardcourt since he won the Rogers Cup and the Western and Southern Open back-to-back in 2013..
