  1. sorry to see Bolelli lost inspite of all the fantastic shots, angles and droppers.
As they say a win is a win, Rafa still the winner and saves a lot of points to tie the game and eventually prevail. Bravo Rafa 👏👏👏 you’re good as it gets. Best of luck to the next game💪💪🍀🍀🍀

  3. Rafa , I hope you are watching the Djokovic/Munar match , it’s at Tiebreak in the 1st set , you must be so proud of Jaume and what he’s achieving . Mind you we wouldn’t expect anything different from the young Spaniard who trains at your academy , he’s been taught by the best.
Good luck Juame and Good luck Rafa in your match tomorrow 😀

    • Good effort by Munar as he was competitive . Overall. Djokovic played remarkably well and he is a definite threat in this tournament . BUT if Rafa steps up and plays his best game , Rafa will win Roland Garros 2018 .

  4. It was a hard-fought and satisfying win for Rafa. I’m surprised with so many criticisms coming from the fans. I thought he played a solid match, especially the tie-breaker (nerve of steel! Where was his nervousness as some indicated?) Let’s give Bolelli some credit. He played out of his skin for majority of the match!

One down, six to go. Best of luck, Rafa!

    • Rafa gave him utmost credit. Dude was blasting shots as hard as he could. He was playing like Lucas Rosol did against Rafa at Wimbledon a few years ago except Rosol made all the shots and this guy didn’t. That’s what you have to do to beat Rafa though. Luckily Rafa has nerves of steel and put the smack down to take it in straight sets.

    • Bolelli has the highest first serve percentage in men’s singles so far in the tournament. Maybe a measure of Rafa’s achievement. Rafa wasn’t playing at his best, but a win is a win. It gives him the chance to play better in the next match. And he won the tie-break with 11 points. 11. 😉

    • YB, my comment about Rafa being nervous was made before the rain interruption. And it certainly was not a criticism, it was an observation.

I enjoyed the match because it was so competitive, at least the first two sets anyway. As I said, great shots from both players. However, I felt Bolelli was reading Rafa a lot better than Rafa was reading Bolelli. It was clear to me that Rafa had not expected such a fighter as Bolelli. And a good player at that.

As I also said after the rain interruption, Rafa could win set 3 despite being down 0-3, and that’s just what he did.

      RAFA ROCKS

    • Carlos’s take on Rafa’s Bolelli match:

“Today’s match wasn’t the prettiest, but he still managed to win.”

“Yes, he came through in three sets, but the match was a lot tougher than the score suggests….”

“At one point during the match, Rafa seemed to be taking his game to the next level. He earned that break point at 3-3 in the second set and I thought Rafa would sprint to the finish. That wasn’t the case, obviously, and maybe some doubts set in when things didn’t go that way.” [ATP]

  5. I’m glad Rafa has a sense of humour about it – ‘he lost 6/2 6/0? Difficult for me to understand. Probably he played his best match against me.’😆 I was sweating blood😅

    • That was very funny and I’m still laughing. Wherever Rafa stays during Roland-Garros I can imagine him going back and scratching his head after part one of his match trying to figure out how Bolelli graduated overnight into such an opponent.

      RAFA ROCKS
