Rafael Nadal untouchable in ATP rankings

Rafael Nadal remained in the number one spot in the men’s Association of Tennis Professionals world singles rankings released on Monday.

He led the standings ahead of Switzerland’s Roger Federer, while Britain’s Andy Murray came in third, reports Efe news agency.

There were no changes in this week’s rankings, as German Alexander Zverev held the fourth position, followed by Croatian Marin Cilic and Serbian Novak Djokovic, respectively.

The current ATP rankings and point scores are as follows:

1. Rafael Nadal 9,465 points

2. Roger Federer  7,505

3. Andy Murray 6,790

4. Alexander Zverev 4,310

5. Marin Cilic 4,155

6. Novak Djokovic 4,125

7. Dominic Thiem 3,925

8. Grigor Dimitrov 3,575

9. Stan Wawrinka 3,540

10. Pablo Carreño Busta 2,855

  1. There are no significant activities in the tennis world from the end of US open until Australian open next year. Hence, I don’t see any change in Nadal’s ranking from now till then.

  2. This is not untouchable guys. The lead is the same and there are plenty of points to fight for. WTF may turn out decisive.

    • I agree. The season is not over and there are plenty of points available. I want Rafa fit for the World Tour Finals and ready to win the AO.

      I read Rafa said Carlos and Francis will be taking time off and that Toni will be filling in when needed. No timeframe was given. All I can say is I hope Rafa knows what he is doing regarding scheduling.
