This will be followed by Alexander Zverev against Sam Querrey, followed by Rafael Nadal against John Isner and Roger Federer against Nick Kyrgios.
Matches start at 12 PM local time.

Rafa’s serve was great. But he played so passive that I wonder if something is wrong with him ? Maybe a wrist issue ? I hope not. I havent seen Rafa play this passive since well over a year ago, even then he wasn’t this passive. His forehand was nonexistant. This has me worried you guys. Rafa looked bummed out too. I don’t mind the loss…but the way he lost makes me sad. There is only 1 good Rafa and that is agressive Rafa.
Now please Rafa. Stop being so goddamn stubborn and cancel Beijing and Shanghai. Take rest and use that time to also improve your game.

Rafa put on a hell of a show but I thought he looked tired against Jack Sock (Jack also looked tired). I don’t think this is a good time to promote the LC. This is the time when Rafa has traditionally been tired. He may well be forced out of Beijing or Shanghai. My biggest fear is that he is now injured.
Oh no ! Rafa lost his match, gutted for him , there must be so much pressure on the two top seeds to win every time they step out on court ,I don’t envy them .oh well let’s hope Roger can turn it around ( I think).
Oh I so hope Rafa can win his match against Isner, I don’t really want it to come down to Roger having to save the day for team Europe, and I think Rafa will feel gutted that he has let the team down . Come on Rafa
HELP! I was watching SKY via NowTV but Sky have changed the channel for the Laver Cup just before Rafa’s match and I can’t find the new one. Is there anywhere else to watch online in the UK?

Wow, so world will win he doubles meaning it’s 9-6 , Zverev will win the singles meaning it’s 12-6 and then Rafa can take it home for Europe

Verdasco is an alternate,not really suppose to play unless someone is injured
He is suppose to help with hitting & helping out the players

Isn’t Rafa flogging himself to death promoting what is effectively Roger’s tourney? I know Roger helped with the inauguration of the Academy but does Rafa need this right now when he should be protecting his No.1 status? Would Roger have done this at 31 and at such a crucial time? There are a few players that haven’t or have hardly played – why can’t they step in? Sorry for the cynicism.

Thanks for voicing, albeit silently, all my sentiments. I too think that Rafa is wasting himself for RF’s airbag ego. To add to what you think is cynicism but I would call realism, I find this so-called tournament a charade directed by some has-beens. Frankly I stopped caring who wins, and might even enjoy some chest banging monkeys to do so . I just hope Rafa remains healthy and wins a few more GSs.
