God I remember that match like it was yesterday. I was at work and had to watch it in spirts. I watched the whole first set and thought Rafa was going yin run away with it. Then I had to work and when I came back, Chokovic had gotten a break. I was getting nervous that 2011 was going to happen again. Rafa Broke right back and that calmed me down. I went back to work, and when I came back again, it was right into the 54 stroke rally that Chokovic won to break again. Oh man… I was so nervous. Rafa lost the set and then Not shot broken right away to start the 3rd set… I was thinking, God damn it!!! Rafa’s going to lose…. I had to go work, came back and Rafa had broken back. I was happy, but then Novak dropped and Lobbed Rafa, Rafa literally slipped and fell, Novak returned right to Rafa’s Feet and that quickly Rafa was into a 0-40 hole and I was thinking, God damn it here we go again… but then Rafa pulled some Magic out of his ass!!! Serve out wide and Crushed Chokovic’s Excellent Return for an out right winner!!!! Then he started slicing the hell out of Chokovic and I was thinking with every slice oh no…. Chokovic is going to crush It for a winner. It instead it forced Chokovic into a stupid mistake. But now still a break point down, Rafa did the Amazing!!!! The only Ace of the match for him was saved for the most crucial of moments!!!!! 125 MPH right down the Aline without a Chokovic unable to do anything but look…. that was the match!!!! You could see The look in Chokovic’s face, “he’s doing it to me again”…. it was sooo great!!! Novak was so tentative and when he went for the winner shanked it! With AD rafa now, Novak still had a little fight in him, and came to net forcing a surprised Rafa into an error. Back to Deuce. So tipsy turvey I didn’t know what to think. But then Rafa forced Novak into another shank and he VAMOSED. I had no doubt after seeing him brimming with Confidence. AD Rafa, he works Chokovic into a rally and with a half lob defensive shot bun chokovic, Rafa runs up to Net and CRUSHES and over head!!!! Chokovic looks defeated. And he next game Rafa up 5-4, Chokovic does what he does best…. HE builds up an easy 30-0 lead but then he CHOKES 😂!!!!!!! Rafa starts the break of this game with a defensive charge upbto net volley smash, then Chokovic shanks, then Chokovic under hits and ball hits net. Then On break point, Rafa just out rallies Novak and VAMOS!!!!!! Rafa breaks and does the Lawn Mower. The Final set was a breeze and I didn’t even need to watch and went back to work, just glancing in and seeing Game by game Rafa crush The mentally defeated Choker. The French Open Semis Rafa had just won was my favorite match of the rivalry for just 2 months until this match… And this was my favorite until the 2014 French Final in 8 month later when’s Rafa beat Chokovic with a broken back…. Rafa just keeps amazing me. But This USO Final will always be in my heart too. I couldn’t work while at work because I had to Cheer for Rafa! When she won that third set, I Was Raging!!! I was Vamosing and people were looking at me like “the fucks your problem” lol…. I didn’t care. Rafa just won the USO wrestling it away from Chokovic. I was Happy!!!!

No surprise. Rafa often starts nervously and slowly on hard courts these days. The good thing is that, now the first set is under his belt, he is swinging more freely. However, he’s got to come out of the blocks much quicker against more dangerous opponents!

Great to see that normal service is resumed: Rafa’s coaching team are in his box. The courts are playing relatively slow and the balls are bouncing high, so this will favour Rafa. Good luck champ!
Wishing Rafa the very best of luck in his match today. With some of the top women’s seeds already out, I’m sure rafa will be focused and not allow this to happen to him. Looking forward to it.
USO 2013 final, AO 2009 final, Wimbledon 2008 final, and all 10 Roland Garros finals that Rafa played are why I will always be a Rafa fan.
