Hurlingham 2017: Rafael Nadal loses to Tomas Berdych in exhibition match [PHOTOS]

Two-time Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal lost his first match on grass this season at Hurlingham Club to Tomas Berdych with a 6-3, 6-2 scoreline.

The match lasted 59 minutes, but despite loss we all hope our champ will use all the time he needs to get used on grass before his first match at the All England Club.

Our champ is now going to face Tommy Haas on Friday.

  2. Oh my GOsh Rafa don’t you look just soooooooooo handsome in your all white outfit,

and seeing it is your first grass match I would say it is really like a practice first time, and Thomas has gone out with his foot on full throttle.

Anyway all the best for your next match and next week,

    Love and prayers,

  3. dont read too much in this loss. What nadal need is some good wins next week and a good draw for the first week. If he gets though the first week he will have a chance for the title

  4. First competitive match on grass and no bagels or breadsticks. That’s good. Nice knee bends in the photos. That’s great. And it’s just an exhibition match. Rafa will give his best when it really matters. That will be amazing. Can’t wait, vamos!!

  5. One loss does NOT mean Rafael Nadal will not win another tournament this year. Before playing Hurlingham, he was going “gang busters”, as we say in the USA. My thoughts for Rafa are POSITIVE!!! You CAN DO IT, RAFA!!! You WILL win another WIMBLEDON!!!!! VAMOS!~!!!!!!!

    • Of course Rafa will win more tournaments; whoever said he won’t needs a shrink.🤓

If Rafa plays Wimbledon, he is in it to win it, and I hope he does.

If Rafa pulls out of Wimbledon, and I don’t mean retire which is something else, all it means is that he is not prepared to play on grass…and that’s fine with me. All indications are that he should do really well at Wimbledon. He feels if he wins his first two matches he’s got a good chance for the title. “Ahi cambia la historia.”

Waiting to see how he does on Friday. I have to take into account that he hasn’t played on grass since 2015, that he could be nervous in general because of that, and he could be worried about getting injured on slippery grass.

All I want is a healthy Rafa to be able to do battle another day.

      RAFA ROCKS

  6. Rafa Get ready four Wimbledon .you can do it .2017 this is your years.Vamosssssssssssssssssssssssss Champ.🎾🎾🎾👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️

  7. I think he is just getting his footing so-to-speak. Not trying to send a message. First match on grass. Glad he is having these exhibition matches before Wimbledon. Love Rafa forever!!

  8. For someone like Rafa, he can play at a different level when the stakes are high. For Berdych, he tends to play well when there is no pressure (exhibitions). That could be the difference.

  9. It’s only an exhibition but Rafa always tries his best. If he wanted to send out a message it hasn’t happened. Does not bode well but we will see:(
