    To continue with articles about Rafa one of the best I read recently is by Bill Simmons “Rafael Nadal a Masterpiece. It was published in Tennis Insider magazine and can be read on line.

    Hope Rafa recovers his aggressive style of game and picks up other trophies, preferably continuing with the upcoming Wimbledon 2017;

  2. Brad Gilbert’s recent analysis of Rafa’s unique success in men’s tennis history points to several issues that show why he himself was so successful in coaching – for one, when he took Agassi to unforeseen successes – through seeing the value of the players he coached.

    Gilbert points out the indisputable greatness of Rafa – a not ‘probably’ as RF would have it – in winning 10 GRAND SLAM TITLES ON THE SAME GRAND SLAM. He correctly does not see anyone achieving any similar success in the near future. While commentators and tournament promoters are quick in ‘snubbing’ Rafa while Pete Sampras and RF are far below in their ‘records’ of 7 grand slam titles in Wimbledon.

    So the conclusion is that before any male tennis player achieves 11 gs titles on one court and surpasses Rafa’s succes, Rafa is for the moment and for years to come, unbeatable.

    Thank you Gilbert for an analysis that is based on facts and not on the wishful thinking of other commentators who have regularly joined the ‘snub Rafa’ campaign.

    Gilbert also indicates two other crucial factors for the future sucesses of Rafa: coach Moya and self confidence of Rafa to play aggressive tennis regardless of the surface like he did in the RG 10 tournament in 2017.

    I, for one, join Gilbert’s fresh analysis Rafa is the greatest.

    • PUMA, I’ve always liked Brad Gilbert and since you’ve posted his analysis on Rafa, I hope you don’t mind me adding just a little on the confidence and aggressive aspects. There are many Gilbert articles on Rafa so I don’t know from which you cited.

      Brad feels that, “The biggest misconception in the history of the world is about Rafa. He has never been a defensive player for one second,” per Tennis Now. “He’s an offensive machine who’s willing to play defense. But the basis of his game is relentless offense.”

      “So at times there’s a perception he relies on his defense, rather than outright aggression to win matches. But that’s tennis’ biggest myth and his victory over Stan Wawrinka in the 2017 French Open final proves that.”

      “I think the best thing that happened to him was bringing Carlos Moyá on board. I think that totally invigorated him and has given him a different perspective. He looks a lot happier on court.”

  4. Apparently Andy Murray’s withdrawal from the exhibition match, due to a sore hip, is a precautionary measure. This doesn’t bode well, since the grass is a punishing surface. I hope he is fit enough to play ok at Wimbledon.

    Meanwhile, Rafa said “I’m working hard and enjoying every week as it comes, so this (the exhibition matches) is the perfect way to get ready for Wimbledon”. Wishing the best of luck Rafa!!!

    • Hi Lorna, it doesn’t look as if they are being televised , hopefully they will manage to get out on the court tomorrow as today was a washout at both Wimbledon and Eastbourne and the rain is in for the week. Andy has stated he will play the exhibition match on Friday, but Wimbledon isn’t looking promising for him .
