What a wonderful ceremony, so lovely to see how proud his family are, Uncle Toni was sporting such a lovely smile, I hope he is proud not only of Rafa but of himself, because without him none of this would have been possible. When Uncle Toni does step down at the end of the year, I hope he will have some recognition of what he has achieved.

  2. Rafa defeats Thiem 6-4, 6-1. Brilliantly played by Rafa to win Barcelona ten times.
    He so deserves this. He works so hard .
    Hopefully he will take a few days rest in Mallorca before he even touches a racket for practice.
    And my greatest hope – that he extends his rest period by skipping Madrid.
    He needs some energy left to win Roland Garros for the most important number 10 win of all.

  4. Well done rafael on your 10th title in barcelona and also for defending all your points here and in monte carlo. Dominic disappeared in the 2nd set somewhat but congrats to him for a wonderful opening set of tennis and for reaching the final. Great stuff.

  12. I’m wishing rafa the best of luck as dominic is playing well to have reached the final. I like him – a very pleasant character and he reminds me of rafa a lot where his demeanour is concerned. But Rafa must get his 10th title here and bring in his A game today. Maria this will be a good one and I’m crossing everything!

    • Yes Susie , Thiem will be no push over and I think it will be a very close match but I’m counting on Rafa to pull out all the stops and make history again this week. I to will be crossing everything and hope that in a couple of hours I will be beaming from 👂 to 👂. 😸

      • Gosh this is a much better final than the monte carlo one. Glad rafa got the 1st set but we have to thank both thiem and rafa for an excellent set of tennis with some brilliant points. Cmon rafa. Still got everything crossed maria

And before Zeballos has not been easy. I was out of my place, especially in the first two strokes of each game, which is when I struggled.”

    Not Rafa’s best match obviously. And it’s likely the weather won’t be any better tmr according to the forecast. Thiem has been playing lights our and adapting better to the unfavourable conditions so far, which are quite the same at RG last year, he said.

    Good luck and try to be a bit more relaxed tmr, Rafa. And I hope to see a lot of RNF members here as well since it’s been really quiet for the last couple of days. 🙂
