Rafa has won 13 of 14 meetings with the German, who defeated our champ the only time on grass in 2012 Halle.

This is Rafa’s 1,000th career ATP World Tour level singles match (821-178). He is the 11th player in the Open Era (since 1968) to reach this milestone.

Kohlschreiber is trying to break an eight-match losing streak vs. Top 10 opponents since his win over No. 7 Berdych (ret.) in Davis Cup 1R tie in March 2016.

Here are the matches they have played against each other:

GOOD LUCK & VAMOS RAFA!

  2. They are both soooo Cute, I just want to cuddle the 2 of them!! Congrats on your win Rafa my son. I am praying for you as always. Vamos, Vamos, Vamos. Will be staying up until 2am to see you play. Love from your Aussie Abuela Nan Shirley. ⏳👑🐂🎈🎈😀😊😇

  3. Oops! Quite the opposite. Kohlschreiber threw everything at Rafa in the first set and The bagel certainly made Rafa wake up and step up his game!!!! Terrific fight back. Typical of the warrior that Rafa is. Vamos!!! 💪💪💪

    • Hopefully not @Lorna. He has served so many bagels to others. I think he can handle it. He’s a big boy. It may just galvanize him to work even harder to figure out how to beat the big servers.

      RAFA ROCKS

  4. And yannick noah was one of the most vocal against Rafa, Teresa, about doping. What goes around comes around as the saying goes. Maybe he will be a little less vocal now!

  5. Go get that 1000th. match Rafa ❤️ You can do it champ, good luck 🍀🤗

    VAMOS!! 🎾💪🏼😘

  6. Rafa’s match follows the WTA match now showing. Since it is 5 pm EDT now, I guess Rafa will be on before 6 pm. Venus won the first set and is up 2-0 in the second. The weather is cool for Miami, but windy. I sure hope he does not lose number 1000! I so want a deep run for Rafa here.

  7. Wow Rafa’s 1000th match! I’m glad it’s a weekend match so anyone can watch it. 🙂

It reminds me… Anyone remember back when Rafa just started winning in 2005, many people were already “predicting” that he’s not gonna last long, he’d retire early with nothing except clay court titles and that there’s no way he would ever win Wimbledon?

There was so much bias and prejudice and judgement back then. Rafa’s game was called one-dimentional (one of the culprits was the Fed himself); he was called talentless-only-physical/metal strong; his outfits and tics were ridiculed; his Spanglish was dismissed as of a less intelligent mind and so on so on.

Human can be so beautiful but can also be so ugly or narrow-minded.

So glad Rafa has proven them all wrong!

Congratulations, Rafa 🎾🎾💪💪🏆🏆🇪🇸🇪🇸. We’re happy you have come this far 😊. Enjoy yourself on the court in this very match and every other match.

      • Thanks, Rafantastic (really attempting to call you in short form “Rafa” 😋). Don’t know why I could forget the 🏅🏅 – they are very emotional and meaningful wins to Rafa. 🇪🇸🇪🇸

    • Yes Vy… and we can’t forget the doping allegations particularly today as Noah Yannick’s son has just been banned due to doping in the NBA.

  8. Sweet photo of Rafa and baby boy!!! He is a very devoted family man and I’m sure that when his tennis career is done, he’ll be a fabulous dad! Good luck tonight Rafa. Make it two down and four to go!!!!😍💕👍

  9. Margo thx. for confirming the time for Rafas match, but RNF now announce the match to begin at 5 pm local time and 23:00 (11pm) here in DK. On ATP/WTA Livescore it says not before 1 pm?? OMG – I’m confussed 😜 LOL!! 😂 Some one help me out here please. I’m not doing a very good job figuring this out 🤔🙄😄

    • LOL…take your finger off of the panic button, Rafantastic.

It will be at least 4+ hours before Rafa plays. Relax and just keep checking back here. Eventually, everyone will be in sync. If RNF said 5pm Miami time, (2200 Denmark time) then I would defer to RNF.

      RAFAAAAA ROCKS

      • Ok Margo, deeep breaths – I’m relaxed and ready 😄 Thanx! 🤗

Go nail it Rafa champ – you rock! 😘🍀 VAMOOOS!! 🎾💪🏼❤️

      • Good, now ten deep breaths…LOL

Just to be a little clearer, the Miami site has Rafa at 4pm Miami time, as does Scoreboard. That would be your 10pm time. I see that Donaldson got a walkover vs Raonic so perhaps the matches are on the earlier schedule. I just woke up so my brain is fresh. LOL
If I were you, I would check times in another hour.

RAFA IS TRYING TO TRICK RAFANTASTIC ABOUT MATCH TIME-OMG

      • @Rafantastic: Flashcore =10pm Denmark time.
        The countdown is on.

        RAFA ROCKS

      • 😂 Margo – LOL. Voting for my 10pm time, so we don’t have to wait so long 😉

      • LOL You’ve got my vote. It’s still listed at 4pm Miami time.

Did you check out the site Beverley recommended, “ByTheScore?” It’s fantastic. Check it out when you can.

      • @Rafantastic: ByTheMinute, NOT ByTheScore. Please don’t tell Beverley, who is probably sleeping, about my error. LOL

        RAFA ROCKS

      • DRAT! Rafa is now on for 5pm Miami time. 11pm you know whose time.

        RAFA ROCKS

      • Rafa’s match is not on untill at least 11.30 Dk time according to a danish comentator in my TV 😯😴😊

        VAMOS RAFA!! 🎾💪🏼😘🍀

      • Yep, I knew you would find out. Didn’t want to be the bearer of bad news. Get the black coffee….zzzzzzzzZZZZZzzz

        RAFA ROCKS

      • Vy, I am asking you because I feel you are a lot more experienced than I concerning these things.

Miami was slow to update as was a recent different tournament website (can’t recall which tournament it was). Could that be because people bet on these tournaments and somehow sites like Flashscore and/or Scoreboard post updates earlier than the tournament websites? This sounds counterproductive to me.

Thanks for any input you can offer.

        RAFA ROCKS

      • Hi Margo. I’m not that experienced but I can suggest some good livestream sites if you’re interested :). It’s much more convenient now for many things than it was in those early days (in “Rafa’s time”).

For your question, I can only speculate that most, if not all, independent live score sites get the info from the same source. It’s a business thing and they have a team who gather information and updates from various outlets asap – from the official websites, the tournaments’ social profiles which are usually quicker to check on the newest updates; from the pre-match previews which might include the match time or at least the session. Also they are likely to have connection with the press or the tournament officials so they can just have a direct source for the info.

As for me, if I want to know, for example, a Rafa’s match time, but the official website hasn’t updated it yet, I would check it on the previews or twitter/facebook of the tournament. Flashcore or other livescore sites can also update the schedule a bit sooner than or just right after the official website does, depends on each tournament.

All in all if you’re lazy or just don’t want any hassle with this kind of things, which happens all year round in tennis :p, just always let a livescore tab open on your browser. The match times are always there, in your local time, for you. 🙂

      • Thanks so much for your reply, Vy. Yeh, it’s always about the “money,” as Beverley reminded me during the Australian Open.

This will help other fans and me navigate the wild world of tennis shenanigans. LOL

        RAFA ROCKS

      • Ops, nevermind the duplicated comment – you just got a double up in thank u’s Vy 😁😉

  10. Arww what an adorable photo. – It suits you Rafa 😍 Whos kid is it? 👶🏻💕

Good luck at your next match tonight – You can do it champ. ❤️🍀

    VAMOS SWEET RAFA 🎾💪🏼

  11. Oh rnf has said UK time for rafa’s match is 10pm. If that’s the case I can watch it all. Hooorahhh!

  12. Rafa, you can do it in straight sets. Don’t let him even think of an upset. He’s going down.

    RAFA ROCKS
