Rafael Nadal climbed three places to sixth after reaching the Australian Open final, as the new ATP rankings were released on Monday.
As a result of winning the title in Melbourne, Roger Federer has returned into the top 10, rising seven spots from his previous mark of No. 17.
Andy Murray remains comfortably ahead of Novak Djokovic atop the rankings with Stan Wawrinka clear in third.

Rafa is currently #2 in the year-to-date rankings.
Earlier today our champ pulled out of Spain’s Davis Cup clash with Croatia this weekend as he recovers from his Australian Open exertions. According to AFP, the Spanish tennis federation said its medical staff preferred that Rafa sat out the trip to Osijek given “the little recovery time” available to the world number six. The federation noted that Rafa “had played in a lot of matches after four months out of action” in January, which at 30 years of age was harder to recover from than in the past.

Rafa posted a great photo of himself driving, back home in Mallorca . He thanked his fans for their support . He had his usual stunning grin , so great to see he has bounced back and ready to knuckle down for his next match . This boy means business.

Yep. But if he won the final…he would be #4. Unfortunately he lost and I am still bitter about even he achieved a lot for…jfor…jist coming back from injury.

What a great decision. The main goal is for Rafa to stay healthy and maintain a well-balanced
schedule. I am still tickled and thrilled by his phenomenal run at the AO 2017. I still can’t
believe what he accomplished after being out of commission and competition for the past 4 months. His perserverance and comittment to tennis always defies the odds.
I would also like to add that the newest addition to his wonderful team, Carlos Moyer was a marvelous choice already sparking some very positive results. Seeing Rafa in the finals of
another GS was such a rush for me and all his fans around the world.
I wish Rafa a happy and restful recovery.
