Rafa on facing Dimitrov:

He’s a player that has an unbelievable talent, unbelievable potential. He started the season playing unbelievable.

It’s going to be a very tough match for me. I hope for him, too. I’m going to try to play my best because I know he’s playing with high confidence.

This will be the ninth time that Rafa and Grigor meet. Our champ leads the H2H record 7-1. The lone win for Grigor occurred in their last match at Beijing last October.

GOOD LUCK & VAMOS RAFA!

  1. Hehehe…Rafa just won! He looks fine but my hair looks like I put my finger in a light socket …my little dog doesn’t understand why I was up all night screaming! I don’t know what I’ll do on Sunday when he plays Roger…I will be a real mess!

  2. Roger was watching the game , I wonder who he wanted to be up against in the final . Another player sent back on a flight home to Monte Carlo. I can just see Novak, Milos and Grigor sitting round the TV together on Sunday watching the match , thinking how the hell did that happen. One thing for sure Novak won’t be happy, he has made it known he want to be in the history books as the best player ever ,so having another grandslam go to Rafa or Roger , especially Roger is going to hit him where it hurts.boo hoo

  3. Mjus, I really hope Rafa wins on Sunday , but you know I think it’s a win win situation. The two best player’s ever ,who were wrote off last year are in the final. If Rafa losses (which he won’t) he couldn’t lose to a better person/ friend. And whatever the outcome , I don’t think Rafa would have expected to be in this position so soon in 2017 , even at the peak of his career he has only won the AO once I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store for him especially on clay. Good luck Rafa . Australia you are so lucky to have the two greats playing a match that has been long waited for in your country.

    • Maria,
I agree with you but in my opinion. Sunday will be about who is going to be the goat. If roger wins the score when it comes to grandslam titles will be 18-14 then I think it will be impossible for rafa to catch roger. But if nadal wins the score will be 17-15 with the french open around the corner and moreover nadal will be the first player to win a second grandslam since 1969. That will hurt the legacy and status of federer. But I am happy that he is in the final. The tennis pundits will give rafa the respect he deserves and he now has better prospect for the rest of the season

  4. I m literally shaking! Can’t believe what I have just witnessed! Unbelievable. Rafa I have said it before and I am saying it again you are UNFORGETTABLE FOREVER

  5. Incredible win, huge respect for Rafa, this one goes down as one of his greatest wins! He was not at his best, but never hot scared. Vamos!!!

  6. I feel like I’m going to burst( not with all the chocolate) with pride for Rafa. There are no words to describe him.Rafa and Rider final I can’t wait. This has to e the best day ever . You are well and truly back Rafa. Carlos Moya was the one ingredient missing from your game and now this Spanish Dish is going to be top of the menu. Maria (Siberia) rubbish predictions . I predict it’s time for another name change AGAIN Hmnnnn…

    • maria,

im happy he is in the final. But i am affraid he wasted too much energy here which i think will hurt him against roger

  7. Maria( Siberia) , you said it would all be over in 4 sets we are now in the 5th . Didn’t your great friend Notradamas predct the world would end in 2012 and hey we are still here.

  8. Come on Rafa, you can still do this. The Jaffa cakes have come out now and I don’t even like them

  9. Still hoping for Rafa to find his form in this 5th. Both players look tired and D. relies on his big serve. If there is justice in this world, this one goes to Rafa.

  10. The 5th set would end in 6 – 3 in favour of ………well, read my prediction.

    So sad.

    But as always, we’d see………

  11. You’re a bigger person than me Susie , I’m flicking the channel back and fourth .Did you notice my apostrophe ?
