Rafa on playing Milos Raonic:

It’s going to be a very hard match (against Raonic).

He likes this court so much, having won the final last year and playing well in other years. He had a fantastic year last year.

This marks the eighth time that Rafa and Milos will meet on the professional tour. The Canadian has a 1-6 record against our champ with no meetings last year after they had split the result of two encounters the year before. Milos’s only win was on hardcourts in the Indian Wells Masters in 2015.

GOOD LUCK & VAMOS RAFA!

  1. He should win. No excuses, please. And yes,I love Rafael Nadal! Hoping for better AO for him than last year.He should be more aggressive and work on his serve if he wants to win. And of course he knows that already.

  2. I was not able to watch any of the Rafa Brisbane matches live…but watching the reruns I’m Impressed and see a huge improvement in Rafa’s confidence. It’s a shame it he didn’t win today but Milos has a serve that no player can return when he’s firing aces( which is most of the time) He wins a lot of free points this way otherwise Rafa could have whipped him easily. Also Rafa has more endurance then Milos( thus the reason he is twenty five and has never won a slam) Rafa would certainly have won the best out of five. I am only taking the positive out of these two past weeks… He has won one title and has played some awesome awesome tennis! I’m so happy to see Rafa back…he is healthy and happy and that is good enough for me!

  3. Sad you lost Rafa but you did get some great practice, which was your objective.
Take Mary around to for leisurely sightseeing before you press the reset button for your preparation for the AO.
It was great fun seeing you in action.

    RAFA ROCKS

  4. We are back at square 1. Rafa was “back” according to the crowd here. Alas, he lost to Raonic, a player he only lost to in his terrible year 2015. There is a lot of work to do still. Don’t give me “he fought so hard” or “he must be exhausted, so many matches in one week!”. He lost, to a player who never won a major. Cold hard fact.

    • He was playing fine. Why did he just collapse in the 3rd like that? couldn’t handle Raonic changing tactics and raising his game?

    • Well…i AGREE with you. I wanted him to win today and I can see him reach the final, but…same on same on…i am tired. Raonic got a lot of free points with Aces tho,but that’s not an excuse!

    • Yes a shame… Tennis channel has played everyone Roger, Murray, Djokovic Kei in Australia but no Rafa…They say watch Rafa on Tennis Plus, which I can’t find. Thank goodness for Marie England… She is an excellent commentator and keeps us up to dated but I’m so upset I can’t watch him live! I watch the rerun on livestreaming tennis the next day but its not the same!!
