  9. Well done Rafa,
You are amazingly determined and resilient.
Keep trying and getting in there with your game and techniques.
None of us really know all the mitigating circumstances, love,AlaineXX

  10. I watched the match and RAFA really had 2 bad games where most of the break points were generated. RAFAs’ shots had depth, Dominic was definitely more aggressive and going for it. If you could not see the stats it looked like he had many more winners than RAFA which wasn’t the case at all. It was 5 more winners than RAFAs’.

RAFA played with conviction and fought until the end. The tone of the articles I read was that Dominic was better in the first set, to me NOT true.
I have seen matches where RAFA was just outplayed and this wasn’t the case today. His errors were a lot more than RAFA, 30 to 17.
The articles also pointed out Dominics’ poor break point conversion, it was RAFAs’ resilience to NOT be broken.

Dominic Theim, like Borna Coric I thought always had that fight that the other ‘young guns’ don’t have. They remind me of RAFA in those terms unlike Kyrios who has a big serve and if that’s lost he is too.

RAFA is still the King of clay, the crown may be tilted but its still on his head.He will hand it over when he is done, it won’t be taken from him.

    RAFA fan forever.

    Unto Stan or whatever.

    • Teresa, If you played that length in the mid day sun , with total concentration, you might be drained too. As for unhappy, remember English is not his first language and he concentrates on the questions and answers. I thought he was quite pleased. Once he won , he moved on to the next match. Vamos Rafaaaaa

      • I mean generally even before the match. He doesn’t smile the way he use to. I guess too much strain on him over the last couple of years. I hope the drugs claim hasn’t gotten into his psyche. I also wonder how much pain he is really in. He has a habit of dismissing injuries as trivial but needs anti-inflammatory injections. I hope he wins a couple of biggies perhaps this year or next but if he is destroying his body to do it, then retires elegantly after.

      • Teresa , I know what you mean but Rafa is more serious these days and less ‘smiley’ because this is a serious time in his career as he has no injuries except in his ‘mind’ and he is overcoming this aspect and can and will achieve this with wins, we and he know he can do by concentration and committment to the task in hand so embrace his ‘his new game face’ Vamos
