Trying to set the record straight; in Rafa’s autobiography, Toni “… is as adamant as he is on all matters that religion is weakness and tomfoolery. He dismisses faith in God as a primitive magical belief as infantile as his nephew’s former belief in his uncle’s power to make rain.” IMHO it is hard to believe that this atheistic view has had no influence on Rafa’s view on religion.
In an interview Rafa is quoted as saying, “I would love to know if God exists, but it’s a very difficult thing for me to believe.” He finds it difficult, which would make him an agnostic; neither yes nor no.
I cannot find any record of Rafa being an atheist: to deny the existence of God would make him one.
Whatever his religious views may be, he is a lot holier, to me anyway, than a great many self-proclaimed Christians.
I do believe Rafa won his nine RG titles by his own talents, his hard work and his belief in himself. I am a fan because of his talent, his kindness, the respect he shows others, his work ethic, his philanthropy, etc. I will not judge him on his religious beliefs or lack thereof. To do so would not pay homage to him who feels, “Everyone has a right to his own opinion.”

Unknown to almost everyone on this site, Rafa’s problems are basically Spiritual.
Don’t you know that it is the Spiritual that controls the Physical.
We cannot on our own achieve anything if God had not decreed it. Rafa could never have achieved 9 FOs had Almighty God not favored him.
Yet Rafa continues to ignore God. He says he doesn’t believe in the existence of God! How foolish he can be? Novak can never say such nonsense nor Federer. Ditto Serena Williams.
God may have decreed that Rafa’s reign is over.
But it is never too late, as God is also ever forgiving. All that Rafa needs to do is to simply ask God for forgiveness and his talents will be restored a hundred-fold and then Rafa can win more slams! Because with God, nothing is impossible.

Rafa looks wonderful as always, but I am still sad over his last loss. I do not believe it is physical but mental. I hope that he can reach out to some experts before Indian Wells. His fans will always support him, and we want the best for him.
