Rafa and Borna will meet for the second time on the tour. The 18-year-old Croat defeated our champ at Basel in October in what proved to be Rafa’s last match of 2014 before he shut down his season to have his appendix removed.

Rafael Nadal: “Borna is a tough player. He’s a good competitor. He’s a strong player with a good serve and good backhand. I don’t remember very well that match in Basel but I think I played pretty bad and he played pretty well. Monday, I hope it will be a different story.”

GOOD LUCK & VAMOS RAFA!

  1. I/m counting on Rafa to win he’s a great champion and playing much better ! Good luck Rafa just try to be unpredictable and get to the net more don’t stand too far behind the baseline ! Love from Toronto

  2. Rafa you are always a pleasure to watch. Do this match for you! I will not believe you are gone. Federer flew over the court. He was not going to lose one more time. You have the same capability. I look forward to Monday,

  3. Don’t care what time Rafa plays I will watch him WIN against Coric!! He is playing so much better than in Basel when he had appendicitis. Look forward to the match Rafa

  4. I am from the UK too so Rafa’s matches can mean pretty late viewing for us here and of course even later for the fans in Europe! Wishing you every success at Flushing Meadows Rafa… Vamos!

  5. It is a very interesting match, probably one of the most interesting first round match ups (With Murray vs Kyrgios) because of the history of Nadal/Coric. Coric did beat Nadal last year, but Nadal was in his worst form at the end of last year because he just came back from injuries etc. Today, Nadal is not back at his best, but he is playing better than he started the year. Coric is a couple of months older, a couple of years wiser, and should be immensely hungry. The fact Coric plays like Djokovic might prepare Nadal for a potential quarter-final with the world number one…In summary can’t wait for this match. Hopefully the match will be at an acceptable time for London viewers. In depth analysis on London wYre’s blog!

  6. Hope your match won’t be too late for me to watch but I wish you all the best for it, and will be dreaming that you will win the match 🙂 3D
