Madrid Open 2014 Draw: For Rafael Nadal, the road to Roland Garros starts on home soil

The Mutua Madrid Open draw is out. Top seed Rafael Nadal has a first round bye and will debut in the second round against the victor of Juan Monaco vs. Jurgen Melzer.

Drawn in Rafa’s quarter are Tommy Haas and Grigor Dimitrov. In his half are Andy Murray and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Rafa could face Tomas Berdych in the quarterfinals and Roger Federer in the semifinals.

Drawn in second seed Novak Djokovic’s half are David Ferrer and Milos Raonic. Besides Djokovic, Rafa could face Stanislas Wawrinka in the final.

The two clay Masters 1000 tournaments leading up to the French Open will be a great time for Rafa to adjust his game, and we, his fans, are ecstatic to see him. All the best of luck in the world to you, Rafa! Vamos!
