Rafa Roundup: ‘Rafa Nadal is not a machine’

ARTICLES:

“I am very happy to be back in Barcelona. I feel great physically and look forward to playing soon,” said Nadal after the training session on Court 18. The 27-year-old will start his bid for the record ninth title in the Catalan capital on Wednesday, facing the winner of the match between Albert Ramos and Nikolay Davydenko. Nadal’s big plans in Barcelona have not changed. On Monday he will attend the press conference before he gets ready for a photo opportunity with Ferrer at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

“Even if I won Rio, I played the final in Miami, it remains something in my mind and in my game,” said Nadal. “I’m going to fight to try to find that solution soon.”

“Of course, Rafael is difficult beat him in clay court, but not only in clay court, in all the surfaces. He’s not a machine, no? Sometimes he can play not so good always. Well, maybe today he doesn’t play his best tennis, and I played very good.”

“Pese a ganar en Río y llegar a la final de Miami, hay algo que queda en mi cabeza y en mi juego. Voy a luchar para encontrar una solución. Físicamente estoy bien. No hay excusas con la espalda.”

  1. I really feel sorry for Rafa. I watched the live match via online and could notice Rafa’s energy is really low and his movement was not as swift as before. Nevertheless, Rafa is still the best and the champ. I pray for your victory to come and really hope you and your team come up with strategies to tackle the opponents. God bless Rafa

  2. This is my second try. Remember the words of Rudyard Kipling written at Wimbledon. ” If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you . If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you..But make allowance for their doubting too…………..If you can meet with triumph and disaster and treat those two imposters just the same ….Yours is the Earth and everything that,s in it And what is more you,ll be a man my son”. You are a great man, win or lose, EVERY GOOD WISH TO YOU. Hope to see you in Toronto…..Jean Palmer. Winnipeg, Canada.

    • Hi Marianne, unfortunately we don’t have direct contact with Rafa. The best way is to go to one of his tournaments. Sorry we couldn’t help. Good luck!
